What is ASTM A694?
ASTM A694 is the standard specification for carbon and alloy steel forgings for pipe flanges, fittings, valves, and parts for high-pressure transmission service which are manufactured for use with high-strength transmission-service pipe.
ASTM A694 F52 Flanges is a method of connecting pipes, valves, pumps and other equipment to form a piping system. It also provides easy access for cleaning, inspection or modification.
The ASTM A694 F52 forgings can be furnished in carbon steel, low alloy steel or alloy steel. The steel shall be made by either open hearth, electric furnace, or basic oxygen process and it shall be fully deoxidized. Its forged flanges and forged fittings can be readily manufactured from ingots, blooms, billets, slabs, or bars. However, A694 F52 flanges shall not be machined directly from plate nor from solid bar stock since sufficient hot working(forging) is necessary to develop a wrought structure throughout the part.
Weld Neck Flanges
Weld Neck Flanges are a very common type of pipe flanges used in various industrial applications. They have a long tapered hub and are often used for high pressure applications.
The ASTM A694 F52 Weld Neck Flanges features a long tapered hub which can be welded with a pipe. This type of A694 F52 WNRF Flanges is normally used in high pressure as well as high / low temperatures applications, which require an unrestricted flow of the fluid that is being conveyed by the piping system. The bore of the ASTM A694 F52 Flanges matches with the bore of the pipe.
